The Great Commandment
12.26.07 (7:49 pm) [edit]Matthew 22:34-40
34) When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together,
35) and one of them, a lawyer, asked Jesus a question as a test.
36) "Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?"
37) Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Sovereign your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
38) This is the greatest and first commandment.
39) And a second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'
40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

07.09.07 (12:10 am) [edit]Exodus 12: 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will passover you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt. Exodus 24:6-7 Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and the other half he sprinkled on the altar. Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people.... Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, "This is the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words." Mark 14: 22,23 & 25. While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, "Take it; this is my body." Then he took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, and they all drank from it. "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many," he said to them. "I tell you the truth, I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God." Are you covered by the Blood?
The Blood Of Jesus - Part II
04.17.07 (9:52 pm) [edit]We Are Justified and We Have Peace With God
Romans 5:1-9
1.} Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have
peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2.} Through whom also we have access by faith into
this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope
of the glory of God.
3.} And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations,
knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
4.} And perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5.} Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of
God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit who was given to us.
6.} For when we were still without strength, in due
time Christ died for the ungodly.
7.} For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet
perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8.} But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in
that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9.} much more then, having now been justified by His
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
What a blessing to be able to rest in the arms of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gave his blood for us.
Give God the praise! Amen.
The Blood Of Jesus - Part 1 of Many
10.02.06 (7:25 pm) [edit]We open this Blog Post with our focus on Covenants. The Bible speaks in depth of Covenants made down through the ages between God and man. When we study the confirmation of the Covenant that the Lord made with his people through Moses, [Exodus 24:1-8], we find that Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, "This is the blood of the Covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words." [Exodus 24:8] Part 1 of this series for this post is entitled, "Christ Came Offering His Own Blood." Scriptures: Hebrews 9: verse 11 through verse 14. Hebrews 9:11 When Christ came as High Priest of the good things that are already here, He went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. Hebrews 9:12 He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but He entered the Most Holy Place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. Hebrew 9:13 The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean, sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the Living God! Moses sprinkled, Jesus washed. Moses cleansed the outer-man. Jesus cleansed the soul of man. Amen. See you shortly for part 2. The_Marquise
SATAN: DEAL OR NO DEAL!
05.22.06 (1:49 pm) [edit]So you've got the Spirit, and you're Saved. You've got the Holy Ghost, you are Blessed. You are Saved and Sanctified, you're a child of God. You have been Slain in the Spirit. You're covered by the blood of Christ. You're a Good Christian. If you are any of these things or all of these things, you are truly resting in the Lord. Praise God! For many of us who are Christians, all of these things are enough, in fact, more than enough to assure us that we have our place in the Lord. For those of us who feel this way, the Lord has given me a message to open your eyes, hearts and minds to a truth that you must be aware of. Read the following, you could very well be blessed and redeemed by this message. Plain and simply put as given by the Lord, you need to KNOW the Word of God. Let me say that one more time, you need to KNOW the Word of God. Why? Because, you will never, ever succeed in defeating satan unless you personally know the Word of God. Headline #1: Satan knows the Word of God! Headline #2: Satan is counting on you not knowing the Word of God. Headline #3: Satan succeeds in tempting those who do not know the Word of God. How does this not happen to you, how do you stay out of the headlines with satan? You do it by personally knowing the Word of God. Jesus gave us the best example of knowing the Word in the book of Matthews chapter 4. In Ch.4:3; The tempter came to Him and said, "If you are the Son of God, he said, tell these stones to become bread." Ch.4:4; Jesus answered, "It is written:'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God'." Now, for anyone other that satan, this would have been enough of a counter to end the situation, however, satan decided to get physical, the Word says, Ch.4:5; Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. Then satan said, Ch.4:6; "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw your self down. For it is written: "'He will command His angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'" But Jesus was ready for satan, He came back with this, Ch.4:10; Jesus said to him, "Away from me satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'" And in Ch.4:11, we find; "Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him." Satan said to Jesus, "Deal or No Deal?" Jesus Christ said to satan, "No Deal!!"
PRAISE THE LORD!
05.09.06 (6:47 am) [edit]Praise the Lord!
Praise God in His sanctuary;
Praise Him in His mighty expanse,
Praise Him for HIs mighty deeds;
Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre,
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise Him with resounding cymbals;
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord!
(Psalm 150)
The Judas Gospel - A Different Gospel? Not!
04.09.06 (3:08 pm) [edit]First of all, why are many "Christians" shocked to learn that there are more "Gospels" in existence than Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John? Could it be because many "Christians" are not interested in knowing the truth, the real truth that could if they knew, really set them free?
Any Christian who is truly familiar with the Word, and has taken the time to become personally acquainted with the Bible, would be more than aware of the fact that there are many other gospels out there and they didn't just happen to be discovered by the Gnostics or revealed through "The Da Vinci Code".
In 1st Corinthians 15:1, Paul reminds the brothers, (1)"Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand." And in Corinthians 15:2, he goes on to say, (2)"By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the words I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain".
The book of Galatians makes it very clear that there are other gospels. Listen to Paul preaching to the churches in Galatia: Galatian 1:6,7 - (6)"I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel ____." (7)which is really no gospel at all....
Paul reiterates in Galatians 1:9, "As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!".
In Galatians 1:11, Paul clarifies, (11)"I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ".
So, I, The_Marquise, say to you sisters and brothers, don't allow yourselves to be swayed by some "new" gospel that would try to compromise your faith.
The Lord, knowing that this time would come, has already prepared us for it. Colossians 2:6 through 8: (6)So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,
(7)rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught and overflowing with thankfulness.
(8)See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ".

A Prayer Of Thanks For Those In Trouble
02.22.06 (6:03 pm) [edit]God, You stand with us in times present; You carry us through many hardships; You shield us from danger over and over again.Thank You, thank You for allowing us to lay our needs before You now.We are asking for Your help, Father, we are perplexed and afraid. We do not know which way to turn. You, Holy Spirit, helps us in our weaknesses. You search our hearts and answer our petitions that we bring before You even when we do not know what to pray. God, we seek the courage to face all situations before us. We ask for wisdom to see the way that is right and the strength and courage to take that way. Lord grant us the strength to endure. We know that You will not allow us to be defeated; we know that we can be victorious through You. We pray that the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds. Through Christ we pray. Amen.
Who Is In Charge
02.21.06 (6:48 pm) [edit]The Christian ministry is both a great joy and a solemn responsibility. Your first priority must be to follow Christ. Jesus called the twelve to be with Him, first of all, even before sending them out to preach and to serve (Mark 3:14, 15). You must find the time each day to renew your relationship with your Lord. Nothing more tragic that the man who attempts to tell others about Christ but who does not have Christ in his or her own heart. I challenge you to know the truth. Paul instructed Timothy to, "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth" (2nd Timothy 2:15).

Listening To The Voice Of God
10.20.05 (2:11 pm) [edit]Though he was stranded alone on the Isle of Patmos, he didn't obsess over his own plight, but the plight of all mankind.
John listened to the voice of God. John received a message and a mission as a result of listening obediently to the voice of the Lord.
Because of John's obedience, we are blessed by his vision and enlightened as to times that will surely come to pass.
We must all be obedient and listen to the voice of the Lord while He can be heard.
"And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful."
(Revelation 21:3-5).
Stop Waiting --- Start Finding
09.25.05 (8:10 am) [edit]Right now you are going through something. Your mind, your heart, and your spirit are troubled. You feel as though you can't go on, as though you have nothing to go on for. And you feel that nobody, nobody is on your side. Nobody understands or even wants to.
You love the Lord, and as much as the enemy is trying to persuade you, as he did in the trials of Job, you refuse to blame God for your plight yet, your sense of helplessness and insecurity grows deeper.
Thoughts and ideas you never imagined would ever be yours make their way through your mind, and you find yourself afraid of your own thoughts.
What to do?
What can you do?
How do you deal with this, who do you turn to?
As a minister of the Lord, hearing those questions would almost certainly give rise to the pat answers and responses that are given the most under such circumstances; "go to the Lord in prayer", "wait for your change to come", "have faith in the Lord, he will see you through" , "wait, I say on the Lord", etc.
Make no mistake, all of these are good advice and all are scriptual, all of them can and do work on behalf of many.
But, the Lord has given me a word for those of you who feel you have tried many of these things and still feel that weight pressing down on you.
The Lord reminded me of the time, 1st Samuel 30:1-6, when David and his men reached his camp in Ziklag and found that the Amalakites had raided the camp, attacked and burned it and had taken captive the women and all who were in the camp both young and old.
Finding the camp destroyed by fire, and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive, David and his men wept until they couldn't weep anymore.
To make matters worse for David, even though David was moaning his loss too, he was distress because the men were talking about stoning him, because by following him, they had lost everything they owned including their wives, sons and daughters.
1st Samuel 30:1 says, "But David found strength in the Lord his God. Let me repeat that, "But David found strength in the Lord his God. Having found strength, David asked the Lord two questions, 1st Samuel 30:8 says, David inquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue this raiding party?" "Will I overtake them?" The Lord answered David, "Pursue them," "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."
Why? Because, David operated out of the box. Read through the book of Psalms and you find David praising, praying, calling on the Lord and acknowledging the blessings of the Lord. But here was a situation that required David to do something on his own. The camp was burned, the people had been taken. David had to reach down inside of David, and by doing so, he found strength in the Lord.
1st Samuel 30:18-19 says, David recovered everything the Amalakites had taken, including his two wives. Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. Infact, they brought back their own plunder, 1st Samuel 30:26-31, and David shared it throughout the entire region and among his fellow camp members.
David found strength in the Lord his God.

The Apostle - A Man Named Paul
09.17.05 (2:16 pm) [edit]Do you have any heroes? You know what I mean, those people that you admire and think the world and consider them to be superstars. I'm sure you do. We all seem to know someone who affects us that way. I have discovered that one of my mentors, teachers, brother in Christ and a fellow saint whose name happens to be Paul, is also one of my heroes. Paul and I have much in common, our lives are full of similarities. However, Paul has done something that I can only aspire to do in the time that I have here. Paul has taught, preached and shared the word of God for hundreds of years. We find his writings in a book called the Bible.
Because the word of God is unchanging, Paul's work for the Lord is as true today and it was the day he performed it. To Paul, it was a gift from the Lord.
Like my hero Paul, you and I are also blessed with gifts from the Lord.
The question is, are we using our gifts on His behalf.
Let's talk about your gift. Click Here, Please.
New Orlean-Mississippi-Alabama and beyond
09.06.05 (2:19 pm) [edit]We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed, perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed .....
Therefore, we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison
(2 Corinthians 4:8, 9, 16, 17).
Consider it all joy, my brethen, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing
(James 1:2-4).
Blessed is the man who perserveres under trial for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him
(James 1:12).
Ane we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose
(Romans 8:28).
He Loved Me, Part VI - How Did He Love Us?
08.19.05 (1:46 pm) [edit]!st John 4:19 says, "We love Him, because He first loved us.
How did He love us? We find the answer in the third verse of the fifth chapter of 1st John; "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. In Revelations 3:19, we are warned, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous, therefore, and repent." And in Rev. 3:20, the Lord says, " Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him and him with me." And verse 21 says, "To him that overcomes, will I grant to sit with me in my throne."
The Almighty God loves you enough to seek you out and knock at your door and give you the choice of accepting His love or turning Him away as a stranger." He is an awesome God. A God you need to get to know for yourself. You need a personal relationship with Jesus. Ask Him to come into your heart right now. He will.

He Loved Me! - [Part IV of a 10 Part Series]
07.07.05 (4:05 pm) [edit]We all know the verse of scripture that says, "for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son.....", and in saying this verse, we show appreciation for God's unselfish love for us. When I think of the Goodness of God and all that He has done and is doing for me, my soul rejoices and I am aware of the fact that by giving his only Son, He loved me! The Lord is my strength and my salvation and by his love, he has provided me with a Testimony. His love is everlasing. He Loved Me! The God I serve loves you too. Do you have a Testimony? The Sacrifice Of Fools [Part IV of Many]
07.07.05 (3:52 pm) [edit]In our everyday lives, we tend to discount the fact that we are living in the time of the fulfillment of the Word of God. The prohesies that are in the Bible are valid and will come to pass. God hasn't changed His plan, if He had, He would have told us so. Enlightenment will work to our good and keep us from making the Sacrifice of Fools in our everyday living. To that end, we become aware of His presence and allow Him to lead us through the SHADOWS and into His Marvelous light. Walk with Him while you can.

The Sacrifice Of Fools [Part III of Many]
06.16.05 (3:35 pm) [edit]Ecclesiastes 5: 4 says, "When you make a vow to God, do not delay in fulling it. He has no pleasure in fools, fulfill your vow."
Ecclesiastes 5: 5 says, "It is better not to vow than to make a vow and not fulfill it."
In Ecclesiastes 5: 6, the writer says, "Do not let your mouth lead you into sin."
Don't make promises to God that you are not sure you can keep, don't say you're going to do something and not mean it or not do it. It has been said that "a persons word is their bond". A promise to God, a vow to God is more than just your bond, it is the making on your part of a total commitment to accomplishing what you say you will.
God does not accept lies or false promises and because He knows your heart, you must be for real when you make a vow to Him.
Don't make promises that you can't keep, especially promises to God.
